Weekly Themed Meal Plan - Week 4

Our Weekly Meal Plan (Whole30, Paleo)

Last week didn't turn out quite as planned...but what's new?  Seems like that's normal life around here.  Last week, we decided to reschedule Valentine's Day to Friday and then our kiddos spent Saturday and Sunday at my husband's parents', so we ended up eating leftovers all weekend from the fancy amazing surf and turf dinner that my hubby made for our Friday Valentine's dinner!  A few other changes, but I'm still sticking to the idea of themed days.

Seriously, before this, it took me an hour to figure out what meals to plan for the week.  Now, it takes no more than 10 minutes.  Awesomesauce.

Meatless Monday -

Dinner: Traditional soft tacos

Weekly Themed Meal Plan - Week #3

Our Weekly Meal Plan (Whole30, Paleo)

Well we called a couple audibles last week because of a sick kiddo and weather issues, but I'm hoping to get fully back on track with our themes this week.  We still didn't do Sunday Roastday in quite the way I was thinking because some church friends and I got together and did some meal prep swapping this weekend, so we subbed some yummy parmesan pork chops in for the pork roast that was on the menu.  And salads after church on Sunday really hasn't worked out, but I'm going to give it one more week and then switch it up.  Dinner tonight, stir fry, is one of my favorite ways to use up leftover meat and/or veggies that we didn't use the week before.

Meatless Monday -

Dinner: Veggie and pork stir fry with rice

Taco Tuesday -

Dinner: Traditional soft tacos

Witalian Wednesday -

Dinner: Hubby is making dinner for Valentine's Day!  :) :)

Fish Fursday -

Dinner: Sweet Chili Salmon with quinoa and greens.

Pizza Friday -

Dinner:  Homemade Pizza

Saturday Scramble - Breakfast: Greek Yogurt Muffins

Lunch:  Leftovers

Dinner:  Saturday Scramble (i.e. make something with the leftovers)

Sunday Roastday - Lunch:  Salad and Smoothies

Dinner:  Roast with mashed cauliflower and roasted veggies

Grocery List (with estimated prices from Aldi)
  • Greek yogurt - $3.00
  • eggs x 2 - $3.00
  • milk x 4 - $5.00
  • cheddar cheese - $2.00
  • feta - $2.00
  • ground beef - $5.00
  • roast - $10.00
  • greens - $4.00
  • red grapes - $3.00
  • oranges - $2.50
  • apples - $3.00
  • maple syrup - $7.00
  • oyster sauce - $2.00

I'm hoping to keep the grocery bill low this week again.  Last week, our one night eating out and one lunch out threw my estimate for the week out the window, so this week I'm going to try to be more disciplined.

Have a great week!

Themed Menu - Week 2

Our Weekly Meal Plan (Whole30, Paleo)

We make it through our Themed Dinner Menu last week.  I even made pasta noodles from scratch and Alexander the Great made homemade pizza for us with marinara sauce from scratch!  The kids were big fans of everything except the Buddha Bowls.  They were "okay."  Obviously the most healthy dinner on the list would be their least favorite.  Ha!

We also discovered that making a new full dinner every night creates a lot of leftovers.  Let me just say that again.  Five meals over the course of the week creates a lot of leftovers.  A lot.  So, the Sunday roast was moved to this next week so that we could avoid wasting all this food!

Meatless Monday -

Dinner: Leftover pasta

Taco Tuesday -

Dinner: Breakfast burrito bowls (sausage, eggs, sweet potato hash browns)

Witalian Wednesday -

Dinner: Goulash  with sauteed zucchini (Little Prez loves this meal at daycare and is always asking me to make it.)

Fish Fursday -

Dinner: Fish tacos with rice and black beans

Pizza Friday -

Dinner:  Homemade Pizza

Saturday Scramble - Breakfast: Greek Yogurt Muffins

Lunch:  Leftovers

Dinner:  Saturday Scramble (i.e. make something with the leftovers)

Sunday Roastday - Lunch:  Salad and Smoothies

Dinner:  Pork roast with mashed cauliflower and sauteed green beans

Grocery List:

  • plain Greek yogurt - $3.00
  • eggs x 3 - $3.00
  • milk x 4 - $5.00
  • cheddar cheese - $2.00
  • sweet potatoes - $2.00
  • onions - $1.00
  • avocado - $1.00
  • jalepeno - $.50
  • cabbage
  • zucchini
  • bay leaves - $2.00
  • macaroni noodles
  • rice
  • dry black beans - $2.00
  • diced tomatoes x 4 - $2.00
  • ground beef - $5.00
  • italian sausage
  • white fish
  • soft taco tortillas - $1.50

Since I have several of my list items already check off, I'm guessing that this will be less than $50 all together, which is good because I almost always have a few things to pick up throughout the week.

Have a great week!
