Baby Prez: 17 Weeks

Dear Baby Prez,

Weight:  You are getting bigger every single day, so I'm guessing you are at least 14 pounds.

Health:  You are a healthy little boy.  Your four month checkup is coming up soon, and Mommy can't wait to find out all of your official stats.  Not looking forward to the shots though!

Sleep:  Even though you slept through the night once when you were with Mommy on the road trip to Kansas, you haven't slept through the night since.  You still wake up about once each night and sleep in about four hour increments.

Social:  Again this week, you went to Happy Hour with Mommy's department.  You are definitely the entertainer for the group, and everyone loves making faces with you!

Diet:  You are still primarily drinking breastmilk.  Now you are drinking six ounces every three hours.  Plus, you are eating about one meal of homemade baby food per day.

The new food of the week was...bananas!  This was your first experience eating a pure food.  All of your other foods get mixed with breastmilk to make the homemade baby food.  At first, you weren't sure what to think, but after the first few bites, you loved it!  Mommy and Daddy weren't surprised at all because you just love to eat food...any food...all food!

Likes:   Rolling around.  Ever since you saw Baby N rolling over and scooting around in Kansas, you have been working on and practicing rolling over from your back to your tummy.  You've figured it out a few times, but usually your arm gets in the way.

Dislikes:  I think I should just remove this category.  There really is nothing that you dislike so far other than being hungry, and who isn't grumpy when they are hungry?  (You can talk to Aunt Kiley about that!)

Milestones:  This week you had your very first babysitter (other than family), while Mommy was in meetings and Daddy was working.  Rachel reported that after your lunch of sweet potatoes, you just fell asleep until Daddy got home.

Worst Moments:  Honestly, there are so few bad moments, I think I could also remove this category.  The only bad moments are when you wake up in the middle of the night.  Mommy would love to sleep for an entire night, but as soon as you make a sound, I am wide awake.  And as much as Mommy would love for you to sleep through the night, I don't mind our nighttime cuddles.

Best Moments:   Watching you work on rolling over.  You are getting better each day, and I love to see you progress in your development!

Love,

Mommy
